
HUNTING
This home is located in Butte Valley on Hwy 97 on the boundary of C-1 and X-1 deer hunting area. (About half way between Weed, CA and Klamath Falls, OR)
The home is located approximately 5 miles from Butte Valley Wildlife Area, 35 miles from Lower Klamath National Refuge, and 50 miles from Tulelake National Refuge.
Butte Valley is noted for its large population of ground squirrels in the spring.
FISHING
We have stream fishing in the spring and several lakes in our area including Medicine Lake, Orr Lake and year round fishing at Indian Tom Lake.
RECREATION
Lava Beds National Monument is a favorite place for cave exploring.
We are within a 125-mile radius of Lassen National Monument, Crater Lake National Park, McArther-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, Shasta Caverns, Shasta Dam, Castle Crags State Park, Living Memorial Sculpture Gardens, and Pacific Crest Trail. We are in a great area for horse back riding, mountain biking and hiking.
For the Train buff, there is the train museum in Dunsmuir, a diesel train in McCloud and the Blue Goose Steamer in Yreka.
BIRD WATCHING
We have some of the best bird watching area in California and Oregon. Klamath Falls has the Winter Wings Festival in February. Just 5 miles away is the Butte Valley Wildlife Area with over 200 bird species.
SNOWMOBILE PARKS
We are within 30 miles of three great snowmobile parks with trails. Rent snowmobiles here.
In Macdoel, we have a post office, mini-mart, and gasoline. Klamath Falls is 35 miles North on Hwy 97 in Dorris, twelve miles from this home are several restaurants including Mexican, pizza, breakfast & burgers, and a fine dining house open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday brunch. Also a fully stocked grocery store for all your food and beverage needs.
